Senior Software Developer

CPA2Biz seeks a Senior Software Developer to develop and deploy features to enhance and maintain an array of market-leading commerce, membership and reference websites serving the accounting community.  The Developer will leverage current and emerging technologies to support the continued improvement of features and services to visitors of the sites.  The candidate selected will work within a well-defined software development lifecycle as part of an accredited team of developers with a documented history of success. CPA2Biz’s technology group is conveniently located in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, deploy and test features for database-driven websites and web applications built using Microsoft Technologies.
• Document design, code, build and deployment procedures and unit test cases.
• Troubleshoot and fix production application configuration, code, data and performance problems.
• Develop and maintain database designs.
• Understand and document existing code, database and data flows.
• Participate in project estimations, code reviews, design and architectural discussions.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge and experience with the following technologies:

ASP.NET, C#, Microsoft .NET
ASP, Visual Basic 6, COM
SQL, SQL Server 2000/2005 
XML, XSLT
HTML, CSS, JavaScript,
IIS, Windows 2000, 2003

• Strong database design and database programming skills. Database Administration knowledge/experience is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in Object modeling and design
• Ability to lead a small team of developers
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Exposure to Microsoft CMS, Endeca (or any industry standard search engine) is a plus

Experience/Education:

• Bachelor’s degree, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology preferred
• 8+ years of software development experience
